The Hawaii Island Wedding Association (HIWA) invites wedding professionals to a networking mixer in Hilo on Sunday, July 31, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the newly renovated Hilo Naniloa Hotel.
It’s a great opportunity for professionals from a broad range of wedding related industries, including photographers, videographers, musicians, florists, hairdressers, wedding coordinators, bakeries, and others to meet colleagues in the wedding industry.
During the mixer, attendees will get the opportunity to tour the newly refurbished Naniloa Hotel while sampling food provided by AJ & Sons.
“It’ll be a chance to see the brand new wedding spaces at the Naniloa Hotel,” says Jase Takeya, owner of Eclipse Effect Entertainment and president of the wedding association’s board of directors.
“The hotel has been there for a long time but now it’s new again. This is a great way to meet the hotel’s event managers and staff and check out the new spaces.” The hotel, which has been undergoing a $16 million renovation, is being rebranded as a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel managed by Aqua Hospitality.
Formed in 2015, the Hawaii Island Wedding Association is a group of wedding professionals joining together to network, learn, and educate for the purpose of bringing recognition to the Hawaii Island wedding industry. Until last year, the Big Island was the only major island in Hawaii without a wedding association. In addition to the networking mixers, the group also offers professional development education classes for its members. Their next mixer will be held at Ruth’s Chris Steak House in the Mauna Lani Resort on Sunday, September 18.
It’s recommended to make reservations for the networking mixer at Hilo Naniloa Hotel by July 22 as space is limited. Cost for members is $20 and $25 for non-members.
