The newly formed Hawaii Island Wedding Association will hold a wine and cheese mixer in Kona on March 24 at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel Honu’s restaurant from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Professionals from a broad range of wedding related industries, including florists, hairdressers, wedding coordinators, bakeries, photographers, videographers, musicians, and others will have an opportunity to enjoy a variety of wines paired with charcuterie, a selection of imported cheeses and meats with French bread and vegetable crudité.
This is the first-ever networking event in West Hawaii for the recently formed nonprofit group. Formed in 2015, the Hawaii Island Wedding Association is an association of wedding professionals joining together to network, learn, and educate for the purpose of bringing recognition to Hawaii Island weddings. Previously, the Big Island was the only major island in Hawaii without a wedding association.
“I’m very excited for this event,” says Jase Takeya, owner of Eclipse Effect Entertainment and the driving force behind organizing the association. “It’ll be a great opportunity for like-minded wedding vendors to network in a relaxed atmosphere thereby creating connections and working relationships.”
Reservations are recommended since space is limited. Cost for members is $25 and $30 for non-members. Parking will be validated.
The group’s next networking event will be held May 1 in Waimea at the Anna Ranch Heritage Center.
