The Hawaii Island Wedding Association (HIWA) invites wedding professionals to their first –ever networking mixer in North Hawaii on Wednesday, May 4 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in Waimea at Anna Ranch, 65-1480 Kawaihae Rd.
Professionals from a broad range of wedding related industries, including florists, hairdressers, wedding coordinators, bakeries, photographers, videographers, musicians, and others will have an opportunity to meet colleagues in the wedding industry. They’ll also enjoy a variety of delicious pupus from PAU restaurant in Waimea while surrounded by the natural beauty of Anna Ranch.
This is the first-ever networking event in Waimea for the recently formed nonprofit group and the third it has held across the island this year. HIWA previously held informal networking meetings for wedding professionals in Hilo and Kona, which were well attended.
“We wanted to reach out to wedding vendors in Kohala, Hamakua, and North Hawaii without them having to travel all the way to Hilo or Kona,” says Jase Takeya, owner of Eclipse Effect Entertainment and the driving force behind organizing the association. “Plus Waimea is in between Hilo and Kona for those wedding industry professionals who missed our previous events but want to learn more about our organization.”
In addition to meeting with fellow vendors in the wedding industry, attendees will get the opportunity to tour historic Anna Ranch and see what makes this venue such a special wedding location.
“It’ll be a great opportunity for like-minded wedding vendors to network in a relaxed atmosphere thereby creating connections and working relationships,” says Jase.
Formed in 2015, the Hawaii Island Wedding Association is a group of wedding professionals joining together to network, learn, and educate for the purpose of bringing recognition to the Hawaii Island wedding industry. Until last year, the Big Island was the only major island in Hawaii without a wedding association. In addition to the networking mixers, the group also offers professional development education classes for its members. Upcoming education classes include a workshop on how to manage online reviews that will be held June 8 in Hilo.
Reservations for the networking mixer at Anna Ranch are recommended as space is limited. Cost for members is $25 and $30 for non-members. For more information on the Hawaii Island Wedding Association or to register for upcoming events, go to http://www.hiweddingassociation.com.
