Hawaii Tourism Authority Seeking Proposals for Destination Marketing Management

Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA), the state’s tourism agency, announced today it is seeking requests for proposals (RFP) for external destination marketing management and representation services for parts of Asia and Europe.

Specifically, HTA is looking for firms to provide a full range of comprehensive marketing services promoting Hawaii for each of the following major markets: Europe, Oceania, Korea, China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.

Firms will be selected based on their ability to:

  • Develop and deploy a brand management plan that drives visitation and increases expenditures for the Hawaiian Islands;
  • Integrates activities with travel trade and consumers through multi-faceted, traditional, and non-traditional means;
  • Develops and facilitates partnerships or other relationships with Hawai‘i’s visitor industry; and
  • Promotes Hawai‘i as a meetings, conventions, and incentives destination.

New contracts under these RFPs will have a start date of Jan. 1, 2016 and will replace current contracts for Oceania, Korea, China, Europe and Taiwan. The Southeast Asia RFP represents a new contract and will have a start date of Nov. 1, 2015.

RFPs will be available for download at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org starting Aug. 3 (click on the “Request for Proposals” link). Timelines and deadlines for each market are noted in the respective RFPs and may be amended as necessary.
