“Shampooch” Fundraiser Sept. 9 in Keaau

Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary will hold a fundraising “Shampooch” dog wash in Keaau at the Eagles facility, across the highway from the Humane Society, on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Dog washes range from $5 for small dogs to $10 for large dogs with nail trims by Shear Magic Pet Salon available for $5 each. You’ll find pet-related vendors there too, including Aloha Pawz Pet Boutique.

Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary is holding another Shampooch fundraiser Sept. 9 in Keaau.

Held only a few times a year, the Shampooch fundraisers have grown in popularity in recent years, so it’s recommended to get there early to avoid lines. This is a really fun event that I’ve brought my dogs to several times and they always leave looking and smelling clean!

Rainbow Friends Animal Sanctuary, is a 501(c)3 non-profit no-kill sanctuary in Kurtistown that cares for and finds homes for abused, neglected or homeless animals.

On any given day the facility provides shelter, food, grooming, and veterinary care for 325 dogs and cats.
